I’m Afraid - Zac Jones
I like this song, not only cause it’s another one about/inspired by/for my girlfriend [I’m not afraid of her or anything, just was afraid at the time (early on in the relationship] that she didn’t love me back), but because instrumentally it’s very experimental for me. Probably 90% of the song consists entirely of loops of parts I played myself. Which was fun. Also, for the first time i properly mixed two singing melodies going on at once. (Failed doing at in “I Don’t Know” and “Lost Memories”)
So yeah, you should listen to it cause it has elements of a lot of genres of music, so you’re bound to like at least 30 seconds of it. (Children’s sounding xylophone, hip hop beat on a rock drum set, skiffle/bluegrass bridge, sliding on a ukulele with a giant rifle bullet, rock electric guitar at the end)
oh my god zac you’re killing me i love you so much
Cooking & Coloring Books - Zac Jones
A slow and folksy song with little to no chorus, the complete opposite of my last song, and yet it’s about/for the same person.
And yes, the first line is “Imagine my life, were a coloring book,” BUT IT MAKES SENSE BY THE END. So I used children’s coloring books and cooking food with blank cook books as metaphors… and I think it works.

Happy 6 months! Thanks for the happiest 6 months of my life!
